Native Bloom has been designing, building and maintaining gardens in Santa Fe and the surrounding areas since 1992. Our aim is to create, build, improve, and maintain smart, beautiful gardens within the confines of our southwestern climate. We use micro climate and water catchment strategies. The bulk of our plant menu is native and xeric. It is our intention to provide an 80% native to 20% xeric plant base. Form and function play balanced parts in the final vision. Our objective is to create outdoor spaces that are informed by nature, art and the desires and tastes of the client.
Here are some of the factors that we take into consideration when approaching a landscape design:
Water use, watershed, water catchment strategies
Heat saturation points
Microclimate identification to maximize water use as well as thermal benefits and drawbacks
Botanical choices
Hardscape selection
Composition of space, color and form
Perma-cultural concepts
View and light sheds
Clients’ aesthetics
Budget
Environmental challenges and benefits of the site
Privacy factors
